How did the idea of \u200b\u200bCicletada Neruda? been developing the idea after meeting the Pancha on a visit I made with the group Retropedal the Villa Portales, invited by an organization that is working in the rescue of the town. Francisca later joined the Foundation's work and we could learn of the neglect that was Neruda's first house in Santiago. Had to do something so that more people knew of its existence and will be thrilled with the idea of \u200b\u200bcontributing to their recovery. So it was that motivated us to make a small bound cicletada Michoacán de Neruda's house in La Reina. The initial idea was simple, but perhaps because of natural reasons for the Pancha, the cicletada eventually designed for a great call taking as a starting point in the Chascona Bellavista symbolizing the concept of Neruda's return to his first home. That was a success and left us quite satisfied.
What motivates you to participate in organization of these activities?
My interest has always been close to popular activities and not necessarily related to the bicycle. I think as a country we need to recover the culture to come together in large numbers, the tribe together and share our interests as previously done in public places.
What are the expectations for the next cicletada?
expect a success like this, and that many people motivated to join a ride that day. Beyond the numbers of people and I am satisfied with the simple fact that there is an activity of this style, it's good for the city and us.
Do you think that in this type of activities that allow a marriage between the bicycle and the city, there is a topic that generates much more likely?
If we intend to reach out to people that most of the time they ride bicycles. Incorporating the bike in this kind of activity is a pleasant sort of trap. Our intention is to open the closed circles cyclists greater number of people who are not part of the elite but who would like to participate in these activities.
How do you see relationship Riding with the social and urban environment?
I must admit that I am not a dogmatist of the pedal and I think they can coexist with various forms of mobility. My vision only refers to what happens particularly in Santiago. In all my time approaching the cycling world have seen some trends that border on the absurd and in my opinion not a good way to understand the reality of our country. While the bike is half of the actual transport to get around the city, it is undeniable how easy it is to move a bike for those who live in the central poles of the city as Providencia, Providencia, Santiago Centro or other surrounding communities with centers urban gravity. However, the reality of most of the inhabitants of Santiago, who live at the poles farther away from the city, where the square meter is cheaper, it totally changes. Is there a future in this city the mass of the bicycle as transportation and lifestyle?

The day the bike is the protagonist of our cities will also be the day when its people are other people, with another school and another way of looking at things as a citizen and as a country.
